WHO IS ELLY PRESTON Behind the Purple Door of her Hamden Connecticut home, in 2005, Elly Preston with the support of her husband Scott, began her jewelry business. Combining skilled craftsmanship with the artistic, Elly began to create modern, sophisticated simple, and yet fun jewelry offered at a sensible price Throughout her collections, Elly’s appreciation and passion for color and texture is evident in her choice of gemstones, pearls and crystals, each selected and arranged carefully by hand often incorporated with shells, silk threads, ribbons and leather to show off the jewelry in it’s natural beauty. Unlike many jewelry designers today who merely assembly bought components, Elly’s designs are like pieces of art, each piece is unique, while not compromising the original intent to offer exquisite jewelry at affordable prices. Along with our introduction of the design passion behind the Purple Door we decided it was also appropriate to change the name of the company to ELLY PRESTON jewelry.
